Reflection:
While reading chapter 5 throughout 8 ''individuality'' popped up various times. It surprised me how this society viewed individuality. The quote ''But today we honor your differences. They have determined your futures. ''(52) Made me think, even though this society is very strict they still accept differences and take care of finding the perfect job for that person. Yet I don't think it is right only to honor differences one day, we should respect them everyday because differences is what makes people be who they are.
As I read further one this book, in shows me all of its flaws. This book is a great example of an dystopian society, a world with tons of problems. People are almost robots, except for the Receiver. i can not imagine myself living in a world like that. Freedom is happiness, your own choices: freedom.

Im agree with you Amalia in the part you said that a great example is dystopia of Jonas society in my point of view i think it also like that because Jonas society ids living with a lot of laws and under controlled and the government makes it like that because i think its hidden something.
ResponderBorrarAmalia, I strongly agree with you on the part that you say that on Jonas community they shouldn't honor differences just one day because difference is what makes people who they are. Isn't that why the committee of Elders chose Jonas to be the next receiver? Because he was different?
ResponderBorrarI also agree with you by saying that this book is a great example of an dystopian society because its a world that seems perfect everyone that sees it would like to live in it, even I wanted to live in t when I started reading the book. But behind all of this perfects world, this society has tons of problems and rules that its not letting their citizens have individuality.
